Jerry Sheen, MD, HBO2
Jerry Sheen MD, was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, residing in New Jersey since age 13. He completed his Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Science in Biology and Cell Biology at Rutgers University in Newark with honors and earned his Doctor of Medicine at St. George's University in Grenada. He completed medical training in Internal Medicine Residency and the Infectious Diseases Fellowship program at UMDNJ-NJMS during which he was elected Chief. While training, he received travel and research grants from the Infectious Diseases Society of America to present his Research Abstract at the annual meeting in San Francisco in 2005.
Dr. Sheen has been extensively involved in HIV patient care as a volunteer with the Hyacinth AIDS Foundation. He also had the opportunity to experience first-hand management of HIV, tuberculosis and tropical medicine at National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition in Mexico City.
Dr. Sheen is board certified in internal medicine, board certified in infectious disease, and board certified in the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He is also board certified in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO2) by the Underseas Medicine Board, and has been working in Hunterdon and St.Peter’s Wound Care Centers managing complicated wounds and supervising in Hyperbaric Therapy. He serves as Director of Hyperbaric Medicine at St. Peter’s.
He is an attending physician at Somerset Medical Center, Hunterdon Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson-University Hospital, St. Peters University Hospital, and the University Hospital at Princeton. He is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, American Society of Microbiology, the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.
