
Lisa A. Pittarelli, MD
Lisa A. Pittarelli, MD, was born in New York and raised
in Middlesex County, New Jersey. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from
Rutgers University in 1987 and received the Selman A. Waksman Award
for academic excellence in microbiology.
She worked in a research laboratory at Merck from
1987-1990, on the development of a novel anti-fungal compound, before
earning her medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry
of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1994. She completed
an internal medicine residency at the Robert Wood Johnson-University
Hospital/Medical Center at Princeton in 1997 and her fellowship
training in infectious diseases at the University of Maryland in
1999.
Dr. Pittarelli is board certified in internal medicine
and infectious diseases. She is the medical director of the Ryan
White Clinic and the Somerset County chest clinic at Somerset Medical
Center. She is an attending physician at Somerset Medical Center,
Robert Wood Johnson-University Hospital, St. Peters University Hospital,
and the University Hospital at Princeton.
She is a member of the Infectious Disease Society
of America, The American Society of Microbiology, and elected Fellow
of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Pittarelli has received
special certification by the American Academy of HIV Medicine as
an HIV specialist.
