John Richard Middleton, MD, MACP, FIDSA
John Richard Middleton, MD, MACP, FIDSA, is a native of New Jersey, currently residing in South Orange. He earned his bachelor of Science in Biology from Holy Cross University; his Doctor of Medicine from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School; and Certificate of Medical Humanities at Drew University. He earned the rank of Major, United States Air Force, stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas.
Dr. Middleton completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at Cornell Cooperating Hospitals; his Residency in Internal Medicine at Cornell Cooperating Hospitals, North Shore University Hospital, Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Affiliated Diseases, and The New York Hospital, Cornell University Medical College. He earned a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases with Dr. Donald B. Louria, MD, UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School.
Dr. Middleton is board certified as Diplomate, American Board of Internal Medicine and Diplomate, Subspecialty Board of Infectious Diseases. He currently serves as a Consultant in Infectious Diseases at Raritan bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, and JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Dr. Middleton is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians, having served as Course Director and Faculty Instructor: Infectious Disease Section. He has received the Evergreen and Laureate Awards from the American College of Physicians. He was appointed by the Governor of the State of New Jersey to serve on the Medical Emergency and Disaster Prevention and Response Expert Panel in September of 2001.
In addition to his private practice in Old Bridge, New Jersey, Dr. Middleton currently serves as Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Raritan Bay Medical Center; Subspecialty Education Coordinator for Infectious Diseases; and Clinical Professor of Medicine at UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
