Ellen J. Hirsh, MD, FACP
Ellen J. Hirsh, MD, FACP, was raised in Bergen County,
New Jersey. After graduating cum laude from Brandeis University,
Dr. Hirsh earned her medical degree at the University of Medicine
and Dentistry-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) in 1988.
She completed an internal medicine residency at the Medical College
of Pennsylvania in 1991 and her infectious diseases fellowship at
the University of Maryland in Baltimore in 1993. She completed an
additional year of training in Transplant Infectious Diseases in
1994 at the University of Maryland. She has been in practice in
New Jersey as a consultant in Infectious Diseases since her return
in 1994.
Dr. Hirsh was board certified in Internal Medicine
in 1991 and Infectious Diseases in 1994. She is an attending physician
at Somerset Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital,
St. Peter’s University Hospital, and University Medical Center at
Princeton. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at
the RWJMS.
Dr. Hirsh is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society
of America, the Infectious Diseases Society of New Jersey, the International
Society of Travel Medicine, the American Medical Association, and
the American College of Physicians. She is Chief of Infectious Diseases
at Somerset Medical Center and Vice Chair of IRB.
